Restylane® is a safe, natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth.
Restylane® is made from non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. It is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. Because Restylane® is a free of animal proteins, it reduces the risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction.
Restylane® is FDA approved for facial wrinkles and folds from the nose to the corners of the mouth and has been used worldwide since 1996. It provides long-lasting results of about six months, but can vary from person to person.
Restylane® is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle. Some patients may experience discomfort around the injection site. To optimize your comfort during the procedure, Dr. Cohen may anesthetize the treatment area.
Radiesse® is a soft tissue implant consisting of tiny microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) which is naturally found in the body. It is combined with an aqueous gel. This material is biocompatible as well as biodegradable.
The composition of the materials in Radiesse® is identical to the composition of the mineral portion of bone and teeth, making it safe to use; no allergy skin test is required.
Radiesse® is a semi-permanent filler and can last up to a year or longer, however it will vary from person to person. Touchup treatments may be required to maintain desired results.
Juvederm® is a stabilized hyaluronic acid in the form of a clear transparent gel, used in the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
After the first treatment, additional treatments of Juvederm™ may be necessary to achieve the desired level of correction.
Juvederm™ has been shown to be safe and effective when compared to collagen skin implants and related products to fill in wrinkles, lines, and folds in the skin on the face. Once the optimal location and pattern of cosmetic use is established, its effect can last 6 months or longer without the need for re-administration, however results can vary from person to person.
